TEACHING STATEMENT
I always considered myself, proudly, a teaching artist and I spent that career, again very proudly, teaching at public land-grant universities (the land-grant system was instituted during the presidency of Abraham Lincoln to make university study accessible and affordable for children of working class families). I am an alum of a public land-grant university, the same one I taught at for 30 years. Without this system I could never have been a university student, and I certainly would never have become an artist.
WEB PROJECT STATEMENTS
These statements provide context, history, and analysis of my earlier web-based projects. They attempt to unpack ideas and themes from this period. Much of the work is now unavailable in it’s original form due to evolution of the technology (although a version of the place from 1998 will shortly be made available through the Links page. I have included these statements here because interest in the work lingers, and I have also tried to include visuals and examples when possible.
